Drastic enhancement of CO2 adsorption capacity by negatively charged sub-bituminous coal

Climate change is a key problem of the 21st century. mainly caused by anthropogenic CO2 emissions, and one solution to this capture store in deep coal seams, where it immobilized adsorption surface. Here we propose modify with methyl orange (MO), typical dye that also major pollutant hydrosphere removed thereby. Thus, raw MO-modified coals were characterized investigate their thermal stabilities, textural properties, carbon contents, surface characteristics, on samples was measured at storage conditions (323 K pressures up 37.5 bar). dramatically increased MO-coal, from 1.95 mol. kg?1 (raw coal) 18.7 kg ?1. This work thus aids development improved methods for storage, significantly mitigate climate change.
